At the Salone del Mobile a story of style told through fashion, music and design
Suit(e): this is the name chosen for the installation to be found inside the Pal Zileri stores in Milan, during the International Furniture Show Salone del Mobile, which will tell the story of a brand new path between different nuances of the same idea of elegance. From the impeccable style of a tailor-made suit, to the harmony of an environment designed for comfort, to the pleasure of a selection of music, inspired by a sense of all-encompassing allure.
The project is signed by the Danish designer and composer Johannes Torpe, who has opted to dress the Pal Zileri stores by combining the sartorial excellence of the men’s fashion brand with the quality of Sonus Faber, one of the most well-known producers of high fidelity loudspeakers.
Besides the fact that they are both from the Vicenza area, the two companies also have in common a product culture that is still based on handcrafted attention to creation and preserving expert manual dexterity. Pal Zileri tailors make suits respecting the tradition of the Italian full canvas construction, an architecture of fabrics that gives structure and flexibility to the suit. With the craftsmanship of lute-makers, Sonus Faber carpenters combine the different species of wood to give loudspeakers perfect resonance and an elegant covering for the technological heart.
As a tribute to this vision of quality, Johannes Torpe has dedicated a “sartorial” version of the MORMOR sofa – which won him the Danish Design Award – covered with the most classic of fabrics, the pinstripe. This unique piece will customize the windows of Pal Zileri stores during the furniture show, but also offer comfortable seating in the special music room to be set up on the first floor of the Via Manzoni store, in the heart of the Milan shopping district. A “suite” dedicated to elegance, where even sound is designed. Johannes Torpe and Rune will also sign the electronic music, composed and produced to accentuate the high fidelity of Sonus Faber’s bestselling speakers, Auditor M, a perfect combination of design, technology and attention to detail. The event will be completed by a collection of suits in limited edition, constructed using Pal Zileri models and with interiors customized by Johannes Torpe, through a lining designed to hold an iPhone and iPod to enable you to “wear” your favourite music at any time.
