Sartorial expertise meets graphic modernity

The Fall – Winter 16 collection perfectly captures the new spirit of the brand as it blends Pal Zileri’s proud Italian heritage with an edgy, contemporary aesthetic – the so-called Avant-Craft vision. The philosophy was spearheaded by creative director Mauro Ravizza Krieger, who describes it as an ‘innovative approach to a timeless tradition.’

Single-breasted jacket with shawl collar combined with wide pants, worn over Midnight blue shimmering shirt in ultrafine silk-lurex blend and teamed with knitted v-neck sweater in wool-lurex lamé.

Fall-winter 2016 marks a full fashion season since its launch, and this latest incarnation is arguably the most successful illustration of the Avant-Craft concept to date.

Key new season looks include traditional knits and tailored suits teamed with high-end sportswear and bonded leather accessories. An autumnal palette of olive green, rusty brown and black is peppered with a sparkles of Lurex. The collection introduces graphic motifs inspired by the art of pioneering Bauhaus teacher Josef Albers, with unexpected and geometric touches also a recurring theme.

Lurex provides the majority of this new season glamour, as seen in fine knit jumpers worn under slouchy suits or leather biker jackets. Taking the wearer from ‘dawn to dusk’, the pieces are very much in-keeping with the Avant-Craft philosophy.

Bi-materic Bonded wool parka in oversize silhouette with details in Swakara fur. Worn over a wool suit in wide silhouette in midnight blue, black and lilac. Light knitted roundneck sweater in cashmere-silk-lurex blend in silver grey worn over white Cotton Shirt with Kent collar.

Indeed, any notion of ticking to the fashion rule book is eschewed in favour of creative layering and a mix-and-match approach to colours, luxe fabrics and contrasting textures. Key outerwear pieces in the collection are given a graphic quality through geometric quilting and jacquard patterns.

The new season opens up an array of exciting new opportunities and creative expression. Pal Zileri continues to be recognised as a brand designed for those who think outside the box.
