Pal Zileri has taken a different design direction: a reinterpretation of the past translated into a style vision for the future
Pal Zileri new Black & White collection comprises eveningwear with a sophisticated feel, tailored for the urban man.
Optical graphics are one of the important style elements of the new creative philosophy, Avant Craft, which, according to Creative Director Mauro Ravizza Krieger, is an ‘ongoing exchange between the spirit and craftsmanship of the past and the style and vision of the present’.
The motif is a feature of the collection’s wool/cotton-blend, slim-fitting, shawl-collar suit (opposite). A key piece in the collection, it combines sartorial formality with elegance of movement. Integrated into luxurious suit fabrics and cupro linings, the distinctive graphic is created using an elaborate jacquard weaving technique. A reference to the digital revolution, it represents technological progress and hyper-connectivity in the modern world.
Trans-season parka; stretch napa-calfskin trousers; mercerised-cotton T-shirt; silk scarf; calfskin belt; calf/ostrich-skin sandals; and ultrafine-silk socks.
Conveying a more relaxed approach to traditional tailoring, Pal Zileri’s jacket and trouser silhouettes
have been updated. Slightly oversized suit patterns in exquisite wool/linen/silk-blend fabrics benefit from a sleek iridescent sheen (below).
The single-breasted, two-button jacket with peak lapel has the optical graphic woven into its lining, and the tailored trousers feature front pleats and slash pockets, epitomising a sense of laid-back luxury.
Italian craftsmanship, fabric excellence and attention to sartorial detail remain central to the collection, but slightly oversized fine-cotton shirts with striking 3D graphic prints and a guru collar lend a contemporary, international twist in line with the new Avant Craft approach.
Minimal leather accessories, in the shape of a thin belt, classic sandals and silk socks complement the chic ensemble.
Avant Craft is not simply a look, but an entirely new attitude to elegance, expressed through the way different materials, colours and silhouettes are melded together.
Pal Zileri oversized hooded parka in coated cotton (left) is an ideal piece of outerwear for layering over both tailoring and casual clothing all year round, and its cord-string waist means the silhouette can be adjusted for the formality required. For a relaxed yet sophisticated look, our five-pocket stretch trousers in nappa leather, paired with the mercerised-cotton T-shirt, is both stylish and comfortable. The graphic-print silk scarf in shades of rusty brown adds a dash of panache.
